One of those incidents occurred back in July of 2019 when Alinity was accused of animal abuse after a clip from one of her streams went viral. That clip showed her throwing her cat over he shoulder during a game of Apex Legends that got a little heated. The incident generated so much attention that animal protection services launched an investigation, only to conclude that Alinity had “no malicious intent.”

However, Alinity has not endeared herself to many, despite her immense popularity, and during a co-stream with CodeMikoe, she talked about the incident.

“There’s a difference between being the kind of person that does sh*t regularly to hurt others, and to hurt animals versus me just having a moment in which I really f**ked up,” Alinity said during the stream. “But I had never done something like that before and I have never done something like that afterwards.”

“There were moments of stupidity, and I dealt with it through the appropriate channels, such as inviting the SPCA into my house.” she continued. “I did everything that I could to make up for it. I apologized publicly, I made videos, but the problem is that people don’t get to see those things. Like, people don’t go like ‘Ooo, I hate Alinity I want to go see if she apologized’, No, they go ‘Oh, she’s never apologized, because I’ve never seen it’, I’ve apologized so much about it.”

Alinity has raised the ire of viewers and fellow streamers in the past, with many pushing for the platform to ban her, and many questioning why she has seemingly been allowed to get away with so many TOS violations without punishment.

But, the 32-year old streamers seems to agree that Twitch’s admin staff do let some of their bigger streamers “get away with more” but doesn’t believe she receives any favortism.

“I think there’s a double standard in Twitch. But, I don’t think it’s a male versus female standard” Alniity said, during an appearance on Mizkif’s “Who Is” podcast (h/t Dexerto).

“I think it’s a big versus small standard” she continued. ” [Twitch] Staff pays attention to larger streamers more…they’ll take a different avenue rather than a ban.”

Alinity also eluded to the infamous cat drama that spark outrage over on-stream apparent animal abuse, saying that Twitch should have issued her a ban for what went down.

However, she contends that it was animal abuse.

“I know people that have been banned for smaller things than what happened with me, with the cat thing… I should have been banned. Maybe a suspension. I don’t know [how long the ban should have been]. Like a week? It was pretty bad.”

“It was not animal abuse” the streamer said. “I’ve seen animal abuse, and this really was not it, dude, f**king PETA were tweeting at me, f**king idiots” she said.

“I invited the ASPCA to my house, they had a look here and [they] said my animals were fine.”

Alinity stated that Twitch should be “more open” on their ban reasons and “do more” as she believes that they don’t provide the updates because it’s “too much work.”

Despite her admissions, it’s unlikely that much will change with Twitch, even as one of their most popular female streamers points out what the majority of their audience, and content creators, have been complaining about for years.

Alinity got emotional when she discussed the hate on the internet she received a ton of online hate after issuing a copyright strike on Kjellberg’s YouTube channel back in 2018, for a joke he made about “Twitch thots.”

When talking about the matter on stream, Alinity said — “The sh*t you guys say really affects people, okay? You guys have no idea how many times I’ve wanted to kill myself.”

Alinity, who has received tons of criticism over the years, has vowed to “be better”. but PewDiePie had his own thoughts to share about her stream.

“I can’t feel sad for her” PewDiePie said during his stream (h/t Dexerto). “It’s obviously horrible that she got to that point, but to get people to stop harassing her would be so easy. I feel like I tried to help her at the end of my videos when the drama was getting out of hand. It was so clear that she didn’t want to own up to what she did” PewDiePie said.

“She didn’t want to be like ‘yeah, even though I technically wasn’t the one who copyright striked the videos, I still took credit for it, and I was acting all up in arms about it.’ [With] some acknowledgment, I think people would have backed off, but I could see so clearly that she had no intention of doing that whatsoever.”

The popular Youtube streamer would go on to say that Alinity “played into [being the victim]” and drew resentment because she refused to apologize.

“More and more things happened with Alinity that was outside of my drama ⁠— she did the whole cat meme, and fed a cat some vodka, and she threw her cat over her head ⁠— and she didn’t get banned. I think people’s resentment that she was some untouchable figure [on Twitch]…and she became the villain of the internet,”PewDiePie said.

He also commented about the constant hate Alinity has experienced.

“The internet is ruthless, and it’s disgusting how it gets so far that it’ll drive people to become suicidal” he said.

“I’m all against that, but the internet is surprisingly forgiving as well. If you own up to what you’ve done, it’s always the easiest way to get people off your back.”

“Long story short, I don’t really care. I don’t want an apology. Just move on and maybe own up to the cat stuff at least. No shifting blame, or just move on. I’m sure [Alinity] will be fine.

“I’m sure she’s gone through a lot. Unfortunately, that’s how it is online when you do bad things. I can speak from experience, it’s not easy, it’s tough as hell. Still, knowing all this, I don’t have much sympathy. Maybe I’m just an a**hole.”

Rewind back to 2018, and drama kicked up when Alinity appeared to issue the copyright strike against the YouTube channel of PewDiePie, apparently because she was offended by his joke regarding “Twitch thots” and even called him out for it with her audience.

The 32-year old Alinity discussed the matter during a recent stream with popular streamer Dr. K, an emotional conversation that saw the controversial Twitch star open up about internet hate, and suicidal thoughts.

“There were compilations of myself… I got up and yelled at my roommate “Oh, can we copystrike PewDiePie?!”… It was just like for show.”

Alinity continued by saying “it was just, like, a joke” and that her action was nothing serious.

Continuing; “I was trying to play it up for the stream” she said. “But I didn’t actually copy-strike his video. I didn’t do it. It was the company that was working for me, [they] accidentally and coincidentally put a strike on the video.”

Hopefully, these matters will resolve themselves amicably, but it goes to show just how serious situations can evolve on any social or content platform. This is the case in other industries, such as sports, where a sports social media platform may see fans argue and debate over the latest news, or the takes of former players turned analysts such as Michael Irvin or even Mark Schlereth, for example.

This seems to be no different on platforms such as Twitch.

Much of that speculation has involved Alinity, with claims stating that she was somehow involved with the ban.

During a recent stream with Dr K on Twitch, Alinity discussed the claims, along with the flood of internet hate that she received.

“You have to understand, I became the punching bag of the internet,” Alinity said during the stream. “Dr Disrespect got banned. Okay, I’ve never met the guy, never talked to him, ever had an interaction with the guy. He got banned and I was trending on Twitter with his ban. People telling me that it was my fault he got banned.”

Alinity went on to discuss the backlash pointed her way in the wake of the ban.

“People were harassing me, like, ‘Why did you get him banned?’” Alinity explained. “‘Did you cheat with him?’ And I’m like, dude, what the f%%k?”

Alinity admitted that the backlash led to her being obsessive over finding out why Dr Disrespect got banned, saying that her motivation in finding out the story was based on her wanting to prove to people that she had nothing to do with the ban.
