Following the immense success of Twitch Rivals Streamer Bowl last year, an even that drew more than one million hours watched on the Twitch platform, Amazon’s premier streaming brand is planning a sequel to take place three days before Super Bowl Sunday.
The second annual Super Bowl Fortnite Tournament (Streamer Bowl) will see NFL players face off with some of the best twitch streamers, preceded by weeks of preliminary competitions and playoffs that will officially kick off in mid-December, with plans to integrate fans into the main event.
Chicago Bears running back Tarik Cohen and Twitch streamer Cody “Clix” Conrod will both return to defend the title they won together last winter, an event that saw the likes of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster compete.
The top eight performers in the NFLPA Open, currently underway, will earn entry into February’s Streamer Bowl.
According to Yahoo Sports, this year’s Streamer Bowl doubled the event’s charity prize pool to $1 million, and the money will be distributed amongst the top trios and donated to organizations of each player’s choice.
