Twitch streamers are attempting to push change on the Twitch streaming platform in the wake of hate raids that have been getting considerably worse in recent weeks, and the #ADayOffTwitch protest was one of the ways streamers were utilizing to raise awareness for issues faced by LGBT+, BIPOC and disabled streamers.
Popular streamer SodaPoppin chimed in with his thoughts on the movement, which didn’t come off well to those in support, and/or participating in it, after being asked to watch a video of fellow streamer Asmongold making his controversial comments on it earlier this week.
“What are they taking a day off for anyways? What’s it for?… What’s a hate raid? I had one? I did?” Sodapoppin said, according to PinkNews.
“What is taking a day off going to do? I don’t get it… I mean I guess it’s like oh wow all the streamers take time off Twitch I guess we really should fix this, but like what the f**k, isn’t that just giving it more attention?”.
