Popular Twitch streamer Shroud has certainly been a part of a departure from Twitch in the past, as he signed an exclusive deal with now-defunct Microsoft streaming platform Mixer a few years ago, and is now sharing his thoughts on the recent wave of Twitch streamers leaving for other platforms, such as YouTube.
Shroud doesn’t believe there is such a thing as killing off Twitch, despite the recent hits.
“Yeah when there is a transition and somebody moves to another platform some follow and some stay,” Shroud explained during a recent stream (h/t DOTEsports). “I don’t think there is such a thing as killing Twitch, I mean… Twitch is so big.”
Shroud then went on to compare the Twitch model to YoutTube, and did elude to a potential competitor coming down the road. But he explained his belief that even new competition won’t kill off Amazon’s streaming platform.
